Mass Suicide Uutsidc Tuba City The jbllowing, is a fictional ac- count fy' the ski trip to Purgatory. It was writternttllbylone of the Ski Club inenibers. 'Forty young Phoenicians and their honorable leaders Jerry Stone and Mutha Stevens took their lives in the niorningl hours after a series of incidents. Tuba City officials reported the trouble began while heading for Purgatory, Colorado early Satur- day 'morning when one of the buses in the caravan collided with a snow bank, another vehicle got lost and was detoured for two hours. The third vehicle was stranded on an icy inountain where several of the travelers occupied themselves constructively. Other incidents consisted of having to pile out and push the bus up an ice covered hill, being pulled 2 . V by a snow plow, having the bus bathroonz overflow, burning out the clutch, getting a flat tire, hav- ing the van tip over on its side, and-Hnally the real killer ffbeing stuck in Tuba City for rnore than y 'ive hours a ter which thei in- , Y dulged in the poisonous solution. A suicide note was left to an unidentified 'Did Vince and it read as follows: I-Ieyf Dr. Vince, during the luggage check you jor- got to see if we had snow chains. We had everything but.
