The instructions that come from one of authority in the various phases of life are ready for those men that are determined to profit from their education at Tech. Dean Field has always used his talented resources to encourage the buildinu; of a greater manhood at Georgia Tech. It is in this capacity- that Dean Field serves as advisor to the social, intellectual, and religious life of the student at Tech. The course com- bines the theoretical and practical phases of the study of ceramics and the depart- ment is well equipped with up-to-date test- ing laboratory, clay machinery room, kiln room and machine shop. The student ac- quires the basic knowledge which would enable him to prospect for raw materials and carry them through the process of manufacture to the finished product. The degrees of Bachelor of Science in Ceramic Engineering is awarded at the successful completion of the four-year course. Gilbert H. Boggs B.Sc, Ph.D. Head a) the Department of Chemistry ' T HEl department of Chemistry was established at Georgia Tech in 1888. The course serves to give the theoretical and practical means of advancing the pur- suit of this important science. The recent completion of larger quarters gives to Tech one of the most modern laboratories in the South. This course extends over a period of four ears with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Engineering Cheni- istPi ' .
