I sit upon the desk in the same room I first sat in four years ago. Many of my own friends have left me. Some have gotten married; some are working in schools; and others are fighting. I am very tired. My friends seem to realize this, for they protect me all of the time. It ' s really very embarrassing to me. When things sail through the air nothing ever happens to me. I can remember the good old days when I got knocked around and nobody minded. But, I guess the reason I ' m so sheltered and petted now is that I graduate this year, and will be going out into the world to make my fortune. 25
