Witli Mrs. Florence Howartl as clirectress, the Ulee Club began practice for its Christmas entertainment. Miss Diana Steiner, a young violinist of Phila- tlelphia, was presentetl at a 'liuestlay assembly in December, Selections from fliftzliffzzzii were featuretl at the spring concert, for which rustic attire was worn. lillen Lynch The Choir gives every member a cleeper untler- standing of liturgical music and allows her to participate more fully in the Mass. The organiza- tion's activities for the year are as follows: Mrs. Florence Howard, tlirectress, leti the Choir antl the stutlent botly in the Mass of the Holy Ghost, which marked the beginning of the school term. ln October, the Mass in honor of Saint Margaret Mary was sung and in March the opening anal the closing Masses for the Forty Hours' Devotion, and the Baccalaureate Mass closing the scholastic year. ln aclclition to these ancl other feast clay Masses, the Choir sings the Iieneclictions for special occasions. fm. fill lo ziglrlq C.. Basketball and hockey thrills were not infrequent, with a number of outcomes featuring a G.V.Cf. victory, ln between the major games and long practices, badminton, ping-pong, and tennis enthusiasts entered tourna- ments for individual honors, while softball attained prominence by attracting many supporters from both classes. The groundwork for the activities of the organ' ization was laid by lsabel Perry before she was called home. Terry Gardiner then plunged into the year with a campaign to raise and encourage school spirit to support the games and events sponsored by the Association. A cheerleader squad was organized and led by -loan Roddy, and the entire student body shared in the fun and success of the year's activities.
