GEORGETOWN PEABODY LIBRARY 3 2120 00069 381 0 For Reference Not to be taken from this room GEORGIAN 1968 Published by the Senior Class GEORGETOWN HIGH SCHOOL Georgetown, Massachusetts DEDICATION We, the class of 1968, dedicate our yearbook to a man whose interest and personal guidance has helped us through our years at Georgetown High School. Always ready and willing to listen to our thoughts and problems, his attitude has enabled us to freely discuss with him matters of international importance and those matters important only to ourselves. Through the efforts of the Aerospace Club which he has sponsored, he has furthered the name of our school and offered invaluable experience to its students. When we were sophomores, his guidance brought our class through a difficult year. For his dedicated teaching and his sincere interest in our futures, we dedicate the 1968 Georgian to MR. CHARLES H. DONNELLY. 2 THE SHADOW OF THINGS PAST —Francis Thompson Happiness is knowing that throughout our lives we will have memories of the past to brighten our hours of solitude and to guide us into the future. The sadness associated with the passing of time will be changed into happiness as we view the images of our past joys presented in the 1968 Georgian. On looking back we often find that the events of the past take on a n ew light and as we move forward let the happiness of those shadowy memories add to the enjoyment of present and future times. 3 4 GEORGIAN STAFF EDITOR: R. Whap! ? + THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM Recognizing the need to develop the body as well as the mind, Georgetown High School has provided for an extensive physical education program. Through the efforts of Mr. James Collamore and Miss Pamela Simpson, it has become possible for the student to enjoy not only their regularly scheduled classes in the gym but also intramurals and competition with other schools. The department continues to promote good sportsmanship and a healthy sense of competition. As recent construction adds more area to the gymnasium, we can look forward to increased activities in the field of physical education. 58 HAPPINESS BEING ON THE WAY UP CLASS OF 1 969 JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS: FIRST ROW: D. Suspicion falls on almost everyone - even the “Zane Grey sheriff’ — until the ringleader is identified as the officious real-estate agent, and peace is restored. Some added suspense was introduced at the play’s matinee, when a snowstorm threatened to curtail the production, but the show did go on and both Thursday and Friday night performances brought large atten- dances.
