The 1969-1970 school year regenerated a more active National Honor Society. In hoping to promote more interest in scholastic achievement and encourage leadership, the officers and members decided to become a leading organization comprised of those students with a 4.2 average and “promising” leadership. Plans for the year are to give monetary awards each semester to the students with all A’s for three six weeks consecutively; to award in May a $200 scholarship available on the basis of scholastic standing and monetary need; and to initiate new members early this spring. Plans for money making projects is a “Kiddies Day”, a car “Bash-In”, and school and public bake sale. The G.H.S.
