Testing their skill as nail drivers are Mrs. Aileen Dick- man and Miss Mary K. Mitch- ell, two members of Washing- ton High School's otlice stalf. This was but one of the many games enjoyed by pupils, tea- chers, and friends in the big game room at the Capers. Many other amusements were provided such as Squirt the Flirt , Ring the Dur,-kv, Fish Throw , A'Dart Throw , Basketball Shoot , 'lWeight Guessingn, and t'Ring a Peg. Standing at the left is Mr. Marce Lucas, who was in charge of the booth. ff 'wwm f A x .sim 3 Donald Kelly is shown trying his skill at throwing balls at milk bottles. This was another game en- joyed by all. The major prize was a large doll which could be won if the contestant knocked all five of the milk bottles OH the stand. A popular attraction every year is weight guessing which usually takes place in the middle of the game room and is conducted by Mr. Henry Bogue. Mr. Bogue has the task of guess- ing within three pounds the cus- tomer's correct weight.

he fi? wwf The Flower Shop, sponsored by the Na- tional Honor Society, proved to be a big success at the Capers. Potted plants and long-stemmed flowers were sold in room 162 while groups of girls sold carnation corsages throughout the building. In the picture at the left, Miss Lillian Niemann, sponsor of the Honor Society, is shown handing out the corsages to a few of the girls who helped sell. The pictured girls are Judith Byrum, Arlene Byrum,Jan- atha Rollings, Carolyn Hunt, Carolyn Turner, and Charneita Powell. The Game Room, in the middle at the left, is but one good example of the success of the Capers, which is an annual event spon- sored by the P. T. A. This shows a portion of the crowd in the boys' gymnasium. This year the Capers earned 351350. The P. T. A. uses the proceeds for school im- provements. During the current yearthey have furnished the Colonial Room, which will be used as a conference room, pur- chased a TV set for the school, a new spotlight for the auditorium, and a tool chest for the stage construction crew. Girls being served the pause that re- freshes' from one of the stands are Kay Abbott, Mary Kay Moore, Linda Miller, and Judy Oliver. Richard Gates is the counter- man. Supper was served in the cafeteria from 5 to 7 p.1n. Coneys and cokes were sold throughout the evening at the stands. Mrs. Henry Easter and her many helpers were in charge of the cafeteria,
