Bruce Barr, JoAnn Durham, Judith Jines, and Mona Knuckles were added to the group in January to replace January seniors. The group is under the direction of Mr. Charles Hamilton. Members of this group pictured are row 1: Joan Lemon, Delores Root, Delores Wright, Sandra Caldwell, Carolyn Duff, Beverly Deem, Rosemarie Kemper: row 2: Edward Flake, Frank Lairmore, Meredith Combs, and James Hughett. The Girls' Ensemble is another of the top vocal groups at Washington High School. Miss Ruth Amos is the director. Members of the Girls' Ensemble are row 1: Sandy Brown. Naomi James, Mary Sue Kemp, Shirley Lindsey, Helen Suddethg row 2: Miss Ruth Amos, director: Marilyn Knoe- bel, Esther Bowden, Sandy VVhite, Julia West, and Georgia Clarkson. Washington High School has been recog- nized for having some of the finest vocal groups in the city. The Colonial Chorus, the Continentalaires, and the Girls' Ensemble, pictured on this page, are a good example of this excellence.

VVayne Vaughn and Karen Davis joined the staff in January. The entire stat? worked hard mounting pictures and writing copy getting this year's Senior Post ready for publication. Shown at the left are Carolyn Knoebel, editor-in-chief. and Mary Kay Moore, business in an a g e r. Here, they are shown trying to se- lect a cover for this year's Senior Post. Mary Kay and Carolyn made several suggestions and the entire staff helped make the linal deci- sion. Carolyn had the job of edit- ing all the photographic copy yvhile Cynthia Fendley, her assis- tant. edited the xv r i t t en copy. Mary Kay supervised the sub- scription campaign. Each member of the stat? was asked to sell at least tifty books.
