Janet Shaw was elected queen of the annual Mili- tary Ball. The queen and her court are Queen Janet, De- anna Wise, Betty Forehand, Kay Abbott, and Carolyn Turner. Janet's crown of white inunis and roses was presented to her by Jerry Stout. The queen also received a bouquet of white roses while her court received bouquets of renl were made for progress. The print- ing classes do all printin,i:,f for The Surveyor and The Senior Post. The auto shop is something new at Washington this year. In the auto shop classes, the Iioys repair automobiles. Pic-turenl are Ronald Harmon, Don Wilson, and Richard Sanford discuss- ing the repairs that must be made on the car shown on the lift. In the Home Economics classes we find boys as well as girls, be- cause this class is open to all pu- pils. The students learn to cook and to plan inexpensive meals. Managing a home is also studied in this course as well as table et- iquette and table setting. During the Christmas s e a s 0 n teachers were invited to the home economics rooms for cookies and tea which were made by the pupils in the different food classes.
