Through unending efforts, Mrs. Tharp developed on Kwajalein, projects which the majority would label "impossible." Her dynamic personality and forceful energy have been an inspiration for those who were fortunate enough to be as- signed to her classes. These deeds and con- tributions will for many years be remembered in George Seitz School. KATHY SUZA NNE PORTH IN MEMOPMM Kathy Porth attended George Seitz School from March, 1961, until June, 1962. Kathy was engaged in almost all school activities: a member of the Student Council, an officer in the Junior class, a staff member of the Ekatak and Kwajpodge, and a library helper. S. Army's anti-missile missile defense system now under development, an effective range heretofore thought to be impracticable or impossible. It is a significant achievement of the Zeus program. Western Electric Com- pany is prime contractor for the Zeus pro- gram. Developed under subcontract to Bell Telephone Laboratories, responsible for over- all system design and development, this transmitter, used in the research and devel- opment models of the Zeus Acquisition Radar, is an outgrowth of ContinentaI's ANXFPT-7 transmitter supplied to the three BMEWS in- stallations. It represents another contribution to our country's defense from the specialists in super power transmitting equipment. L D V LLL ' DIVISION ffl COlXI77lVElVTAL ELECTRONICS INHAIVLJFACTTLJRIIVG CTS.
