. . . Probing Science’s Wonders Every year, an average of 40% of Clark’s grad- uating Seniors go on to college. Eighty-five of 165 members of the class of ’58 took the college preparatory course requiring two years of foreign language and higher mathematics besides regular graduation requirements. All took biology, and many went on to take physics and or chemistry. They had a choice of German, Latin, or Spanish for their foreign language. In October, fifty Seniors took the two-hour Schol- arship Qualifying Test. Later, in December, Jan- uary, and February, college-bound Seniors took the college board entrance exams required for enroll- ment in many colleges. To prepare for the exams, special classes were held after school Wednesdays. Observations on Don Antkowiak’s chemistry experiment are made by Marlene Mayercik and Dick Economou. In biology Glenn Thoren and Dolores Banik find that the amoeba is basically the same as the human body. 9
