Besides carrying on their regular class work teachers have often helped students find their way through perplexing problems and difficulties. For this reason the faculty members at Clark are not just teachers, but friends to the students. In addition to this many of the teachers act as sponsors for the numerous clubs in school. Combining a love of teaching with a fine sense of humor and a sincere interest in the physical and mental health of each student, our teachers have done their part in keeping the George Rogers Clark Creed — ' To the best of our ability we shall en- deavor to faithfully serve our school. Honor and uphold its name. Strive for high scholarship, citizenship, and sportsmanship. ” ■■■ Page Fourteen

y F a c u I t Although our teachers could have left Clark for higher paying jobs in industry, many of them faithfully remained in school. Several instructors were added to the GRC faculty this year. Included among them were Mr. Emerson Aldrich, mathematics teacher and assistant football and basketball coach; Miss Dorothy Clark and Miss Harriette Shoe- maker, English instructors; Mrs. Rebekah Eddy, Latin teacher; Miss Leota Kenzie, physical education advisor; and Mrs. Shirley Wilson, nurse. Because of the resignation of Mr. Max W. Beaty, former Publications Director, Mrs. Doris Fuller was obtained as journalism instructor. As their social activities the teachers held their annual banquet at Christmas and their spring picnic in May.
