NHS membership Totals 2 5 Seventeen seniors and four juniors were elected to the National Honor Society, making the total membership twenty-five. They were chosen by the faculty from the upper third of their classes on the basis of scholarship, leadership, and character. In previous years the society had not been sponsored by any member of the teaching staff, but this year Miss Pearl Yocham acted as sponsor and supervisor of the group. For the first time the original method of electing the members was used. Five per cent of the junior class was elected this year and in the fall of next year up to ten per cent of the senior class can be selected. The remainder will be chosen in the second semester. The Harold Zimmer Memorial award, sponsored by the National Honor Society, is given each year to a senior boy for outstanding scholarship, athletic ability, and sportsmanship. The candidates are nominated by NHS members and elected by a committee of six teachers. This year the honor went to Norbert Adams.
