Combat Systems LT CHARLES HUENEFELD COMBAT SYSTEMS OFFICER Combat Systems Officer, Lieutenant Charles K. Huenefeld: Liei tenant Charles K. Buck Huenefeld was born and raised in Bee ford, Massachusetts. He enlisted in the Navy in 1982 and served i an Aviation Ordnanceman on USS KITTYHAWK (CV 63) an USNAF Atsugi Japan until 1988, when he was selected for the Ei listed Commissioning Program. He graduated from Old Dominio University in 1990, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Sc ence, and was commissioned an Ensign. After attending Surfac Warfare Officer ' s School, he completed his Division Officer tour, i First Lieutenant and then Auxiliaries Officer, on USS VINCENNB (CG 49). Lieutenant Huenefeld ' s next assignment was to Fleet Infoi mation Warfare Center, Detachment San Diego, where he served i C2W Training Officer and deployed as the C2W Officer attached 1 CPR5 embarked in USS ESSEX (LHD 2). In 1996 he transferred : the 11th Marine Regiment at Camp Pendleton CA where he serve as a member of the 1st Marine Division Fire Support Coordinatic Center. Lieutenant Huenefeld has been assigned as Combat System Officer on USS George Philip (FFG 12) since August 1998. 34
