y LT J I Morris Support Officer X T The Support Department has the responsibility of providing and accounting for materials and funds required to operate the ship. It also provides services which contribute to the comfort, welfare and morale of the crew. It ' s members consist of Yeomen, Personnelmen, Master-at-Arms, Disbursing Clerk, Ship ' s Servicemen, Mess Management Specialists, Storekeepers, and a Hospital Corpsman. Administratively the Yeomen, Personnelmen and Master-at-Arms support the ship by keeping the never ending flow of paperwork to and from the ship moving. The ship ' s Storekeepers procure, issue and dispense materials for shipboard use as well as accounting for the ship ' s expenditures. Providing the Finest Food In The Fleet comes as no easy task for the Mess Management Specialists, while operating the ship ' s laundry, barber shop and store is all part of a day ' s work for the Ship ' s Servicemen. The ship ' s Corpsman handles all ailments from the common cold to the more rare case of seasickness. Probably the most closely scrutinized and most welcomed of the Support Department services is that of Disbursing. t r .
