Seventh Grade 1 74 From left: Nancy Coates, Treasurer: Don Stroud, Presidentg Dorothy Hannum, Vice-Presidentg Tracy Goetz, Representative Not pictured: Aileen Miller, Secretary. The Class of '75 entered GM with great expectations of the new freedom that high school provides. The experience of having a private locker and changing classes every hour was an exciting change from elementary school. The enthusiasm of the seventh grade became immediately obvious with the class's first officer elections. So many students were interested in running for office it was necessary to have the school's first election primary to reduce the number of candidates to two per office. The final election was close, particulary for the office of president. Election partisanship however did not keep the class from uniting to put on three successful carnival booths. Win-a-Draw, Fortune Telling, and Record Request booths were the seventh grade's first at- tempt by the class as a working whole. New opportunities were opened to seventh graders this year. The drill team and pom-pom girls gave Jr. High girls the chance to actively show their spirit. Many in the class participated in the years first dramatic production The Hobbit , gain- ing valuable experience. Intramural sports involved seventh grade boys and girls in soccer, football, and basketball, and the seventh grade in- fluence in Pep Club was obvious at both home and away games. A spring track- field day, along with several class parties and dances finished out the year.
