VARSITY CHEERLEADERS " ... and yell ! " 128 G.M. ' s basketball team had the same problem as that of other sports, a lack of experience seniors (two seniors on the squad of eleven). All other group IB Teams carried six or seven seniors. Due to the lack of experienced players, GM was unable to produce a championship basket- ball team. GM won its first IB Tournament game by de- feating Herndon in o v e r t i m e, but lost to Handley of Winchester in the second game. Considering everything, GMdid well and should show power next year with eleven returning. G. M. Despite heavy losses through graduation, the outlook is good for this season as the Mustangs enter a new league. Along with 10 returning lettermen from last year, many outstanding prospects, especially from the lower grades, have turned out to help make what could be George Mason ' s best team since the school was started. As the young baseball season begins to take shape, our school has the makings of another league title for the undisputed champions of the old Group II league. J. V. CHEERLEADERS 135 First row : D.
