LEAI-I PUsEY SYNOPSIS On February 5th the Senior Class of Geneva High School presented the play, "New Fires," a three-act, hilarious, royalty comedy, by Charles Quimby Burdette. The play itself concerns the family of Stephen Santry, a Chicago author who realiz- ing that his wife and children have lost their appreciation of fundamental worth-while things, takes them to an inherited farm in the Missouri Ozarks for a week-end visit. In charge of this farmhouse of old Gideon San try, is Lucinda Andrews, a widow of fifty, who has been used to having her own way, as Suzanne, her spinster assistant, and Sid Sperry, a farm hand, know to their sorrow. Stephen has barely time to prepare them for the coming of "the cyclone" before it arrives. There are Billy and Phyllis, adolescents of fifteen and sixteen, to whom all life is a t'1ark" if they are free of restraintg Olive, a spoiled twenty-year-old debutanteg Dick, the eldest son, twenty-two, who has just married Eve, on the strength of Dad's paying the bills, and Anne, Stephen's luxury-loving wife. Thirty SYNOPSIS This is the Sperry family. Judy, who was gone away from home, came back a little too smart for herself. She fell in love with Erie Van Nuys Whom she met while away. While Van Nuys was here, Steve Bradford tOOk a back seat for a while until the true character of the city rival is revealed. But Steve remains faithful and loyal tO Judy through it all. Judy and Erie get arrested and Granny "robs" three banks tO provide bail for Judy's release. After a terrible evening Judy comes to her senses. ? 1 4, If ' ,, 5 4 WHAT A FAMILY!
