 f PURPLE-N-GOLD KNOCK 'E O O i— a Homecoming 1983 was celebrated by the student body at GCHS with the theme Purple-n-Gold Knock'em Cold . Monday thru Friday ceased to exist but rather became Purple and Gold Day , Western Day , Punk Rock Day , Fifties Day , and Hat Day . The winners of the door decorations contest were Mr. Stinson's homeroom, first place, Mrs. Ryland's homeroom, second place, and Mrs. Bowman's homeroom, third place. The Homecoming ballgame was played on October 14 against the Houston County Lions. The Bulldogs went to the dressing room at halftime with a 7-7 tie but were unable to score in the second half. With the final score of 13-7, the Lions left victorious. V 18

r Varsity Cheerleaders Sponsor MISS GCHS DAWG 1983 Willie Brown, assistant principal at GCHS, emceed the third annual womanless beauty pageant held October 3, 1983. The pageant title was changed to Miss GCHS Dawg in honor of the beautiful contestants competing in this year's contest. The pageant began with the contestants performing a dance routine to Electricity . The contestants then appeared in evening wear while being scored by the panel of judges. Chosen from the thirteen contestants as Miss GCHS Dawg 1983 was Loretta Luscious alias Larry Smith. Loretta was crowned by last year's queen, Melinda Two-Toys or Rob Ward. Second alternate was Delia Delightful (Wafer Brown) and Susie Sizzle Lips (Scott Boyette) was selected first runner-up. Above Miss GCHS Dawg in her evening wear Right Loretta Luscious is crowned by last year’s queen Melinda Two-Toys.

Miss Homecoming Tami Spivey Escorted By: Joey Pridgen Crowned as Homecoming Queen 1983 was Tami Spivey, escorted by Joey Pridgen. Vonda Brannon, president of the Student Council, crowned the new queen during the pre-game activities on Homecoming night. Leslie Hughes served as crown bearer.
