Miss Hartford Contestants Present A Night Of ALL AMERICAN SPORTS” The Miss Hartford Pageant was held in April 1982 at the Geneva County High School Auditorium. Six girls competed for the title. The areas in which they competed were Judges interview, Swimsuit competition, Physical Fitness routine, Sports attire, Verbal communications, and Evening wear. The Judges Interview and Swimsuit Competition was held in the afternoon. The girls were asked questions on local, state, and national affairs. That night the girls presented a physical Fitness routine to the theme from Chariots of Fire . Afterwards, the girls competed in Sportswear and verbal communication at the same time. The girls came out dressed in the attire of their favorite sport and gave a speech telling why it was their favorite. Following the Sportswear competition, the contestants were presented in Evening wear. Nancy Dillard was crowned Miss Hartford; First runner-up — Dawn Owen, and second runner-up was Tami Spivey Below: Second runner-up Tammy Spivey, Miss Hartford Nancy Dillard, and First runner-up Dawn Owen 18 Miss Hartford

Joyce Jordan Crowned 1982 Miss Bronze After competing in the areas of sportswear, talent, swim wear, and evening wear, Joyce Jordan was named as the 1982 Miss Bronze. The pageant was sponsored by the Black Studies Club with entertainment being provided by the Aerobic Dancers, Ann Robinson, and the Street Dancers. First runner-up was Moneak Hilliard, Second runner-up was Mary Hill, and Third runner-up was Mary Nell Johnson. Last year's queen, Laura Jordan, crowned the new queen.
