Top row: Martin W'ojtyna, Rob Ward, Scott Peacock, W illiam Birdsong, and Jeff Dowling. “BEST IN CLASS” On Saturday, October twenty-fifth, nineteen hundred eighty, the G.C.H.S. Band took top honors in the National Southeastern States Marching Festival in Troy, Alabama. The band topped eleven other bands in their class to receive the “Best in Class” honor. This is the highest award in each class and the G.C.H.S. Band was the only band in the county to receive a “Best in Class” award this year. This was the first time in Hartford's band history that a band has won a “Best in Class”award. The section leaders for the band are Glenda Zorn and Tammy Parker, Martin Wojtyna, George Heard, Debbie Guilford, DeAnn Brox-son, Laura Jordan, and Donna Creel. Bund 19
