L -1? Greetings from the President Wrth the annual call to prepare thrs page, and as my mrnd turns rn thought to the re rders of the Genevan, three classes seem to come before my mrnd, and I would like to grve my greetrngs to each of them Frrst of all I thrnk of the whole company of students of Geneva, that student body on whrch I h rve been ac customed to look down from the platform each mormng rn the chapel servrce You wrll turn over the pages of thrs book, as rt comes to your hand, with currous rnterest Here, you wrll hnd, as rn a mirror, reflected back to you, the lrfe of the year It has been 1 year of many experiences It has been full of lrfe I trust th rt rs you recall rt, md weigh rt, you wrll conclude th rt all rn rll rt h rs been 1 good valuable to rnrsspend I believe, however, that most of you wrll feel that rt h rs been worth whrle The second group that comes to my mrnd rs the el rss that rs now lookrng for ward to rts graduation You have completed vour four ye rrs of college work and are about to assume the responsrbrlrtres of lrfe I hope you h rve not been drs appointed rn your college experrence It perhaps has not been just what you expected rt to be, and maybe rt has made rts rmpress on you rn ways you could hardly have antrcrpated, but I hope rt has been of value and that you go to vour lrfe work more confident of fitness, and with hrgher ideals, and a larger purpose than rfyou had not come We have learned to esteem thrs class of 1928 Wrth a hugh regard, and Wrth all our hearts faculty and students we wrsh you well The third class ofreaders that comes before my mind is made up of those who, years later, shall turn back to these pages to reviveold memories and recall the days of college life. It is in anticipation of these later years that wemost treasure a college annual. It grows in value as time goes on. As the days ofcollege life fade into this background all that helps to keep them clearer and vivid is treasured rnor'e and more. ' ' V I wonder what you will think as you turn these pages over twenty years from now. There will doubtless be something of fondness and maybe something of regret as you look back from the experience of the years. Ihis, however, is my prophecy, that you will value truth and honor, and work and faith, more than ever before, and it is my hope that you will have a sentiment of regard deep and sincere, for your college in that it helped to point you in early years toward these true goals in life. A So I am glad of the opportrrnity to give my greetings to all readers of the Cwenevan, pr'esent and future, and to wish you every success inthe enterprise of life. It is great to live, to wqrk and play, and hope and believe, and my one word ofexhortation is that you enter into life fully and worthily, and live as splendidly as it is possible for you to live.
