Upset rooms are the order of the day, but Marlow will soon have his belongings put away and will be ready for room inspection. The long minutes spent waiting in line on registration day afford opportunity for greeting classmates. Four years at Gem State Academy! For the newcomer they begin with a trace of uncertainty. But as the student re- turns each successive year, he finds the joy of renewing old acquaintances and making new ones. As the years go swiftly by, he may find here abalance of spiritual, mental, and physical activity which gives him a new perspective on life. I 2 E 4 3 1 Q B, M, KURTZ, B,A. Principal-Business Manager Algebra Instructor at fm Hhifwip , "fat giant" "In the beginning God. . ." As I welcome you students for another year at Gem State Academy, I trust that you will from this very beginning take as your Golden Text the first four words of the Holy Scriptures. Ponder these words well today and determine that from this first day of this school year you will put God first in your every acti-vity- in your devotions, in your studies, in your work, and in your play. We read, "To restore in man the image of his Maker, to bring him back to the perfection in which he was created, to promote the development of body, mind, and soul, that the divine purpose of His creation might be rea1ized-- this is the object of education, the great object of life". The great objective of life as stated here is the goal of every department and every educative factor of Gem State Academy. The purpose of the Academy is to retrace in beauty and holiness the moral image of God which was lost through man's fall into sin. Gem State Academy believes that its teachers are servants of God. It was established to aid young people in their every endeavor and to guide them in distinguishing between right a.nd wrong and in making correct decisions while molding characters. Gem State Academy remains the school "Where Education is life". Y ,rg-'-f ., ,W fw,,v"l ' -x fix wjc :U v Huff pgs - --.fn J: 2 app f... if. xvgg T ,. WJ. X " ,N A 1' if .17 ' 2 1.x w is.
