Chapter members have engaged in numerous activities. Some accomplishments are: Twenty- five members entered tobacco in the Scott County Tobacco Show and Sale; eight members won a total of twenty-five ribbons and trophies at the Scott County Tobacco Festival. One member, Eu- gene Peters, represented the Clinch Federation FFA at the National FFA Convention in Kansas City, Missouri. Two delegates represented Gate City at Virginia Polytechnic Institute for four days. Three members also attended the Virginia Convention as members of a dairy cattle judging team. The Chapter awarded medals or trophies to members for scholarship, supervised farming programs, public speaking and livestock production efficiency.

Future Homemakers of America Toward New Horizons,” our motto, is an infinite challenge and expresses the purpose of our organization, to learn to live better today in order that our lives and those of our families may be better tomorrow. The colors of our organization are red and white, red for courage and firm determination to succeed, white for the purity and integrity of youth. Our flower is the red rose which symbolizes vibrant glowing health which contributes to happiness and efficiency in home and group life. As officers and members, we are learning to guide and direct activities which teach us how to live a more useful and satisfying life. Devil Dateline Staff The primary aim of the Devil Dateline is to inform the faculty and students of Gate City High School of what is happening and how it affects them. This is accomplished through much hard work and co-operation. The paper staff has tried to present articles of interest to everyone.
