T""""""I"'- s.s1YPl'Wl G.H.S. mme cms , AURORA STAFF CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1941, thirty-three children met in room one to star as main characters in the play that was to last twelve years. Mrs. Shipley was the director of act I. The cast included Ralph Baker. Joann Bennett. Jesse Boardeds, Donnie Boyle, Marjorie Brown, Wayne Campbell. Dorothy Case. Peggy Clock, Norman Collins, Bradford Daniels, Gerald Dickey, Ronald Drumm. Wanita Evans, Joan Huggins, Betty Iseley. Clifford and Donald Jackson. Eldon Johnson, Norma Lam- bert, Ruby Lawson, Jerry Maddy. Joe Markins. Lois Mauck, Bobby Milhollin. Sue Munsey, Carol Needler, Arther Roberts, Georgia Shaw, John Sparling, Judith Stephenson, Sue Vannatter, Jane Wimmer, and Keith Wright. The ones which left us were Ralph Baker, Jesse Borders, Donnie Boyle, Joan Huggins, Clifford Jackson. Arther Roberts, Wanita Evans, Carol Needler, Georgia Shaw, and Judith Stephenson. The next year Miss Rehme was the director. There were several stars that left the cast but there were new ones that came to take their places. The new members were Ruth Ann Childs, Wanda Dunlap. James Laycock, Karen Col- lins, Bob Huber, Wallace Stevenson, Donald Dickey, Vera Vaughn, Shirley Spoon- more, and Jerry Brimhall. The ones that left us were Wayne Campbell, Ruth Ann Childs, Bradford Daniels, and Donald Jackson. K Mrs. Broyles was the director during the third act. The ten new members of the cast were Bill Armstrong, Bob Dewees, Patricia Shultz, Wanita Evans. William Rick, Linda Walsh, Charles Hight, and the twins Gene and Glenn Cowley. The ones that left were William Rick, James Laycock, Shirley Spoonmore, and Wallace Stevenson. In the fourth act new members of the cast were Janet Brokaw,,Mary, Florence and Patricia Burris, Harold Case, Jerry West, Bob Rinker. Gretchen Ferguson, and .lack Ice. Gene and Glenn Cowley left the cast along with Florence and Patricia Burris. Mrs. Parker was our director. During the fifth act with Mrs. Benbow as director Donald Cain, Carol Needler, Jerry Miller, and Lucille Boyd were new members of the cast. Gret- chen Ferguson, Lucille Boyd, and Charles Hight left. Mrs. Lawson directed the sixth act of this play. The new members of the cast were Ronald Conner, Patricia Shultz, and Leroy Osborne. Jerry Brimhall, Janet Brokaw, Mary Burris, Ronald Conner, Dorothy and Harold Case left the cast. A new phase in the lives of the cast occurred when we entered the seventh act with Mrs. Fornwald as director. Edgar McClurg was the only new member in the cast. Patricia Shultz, Donald Cain and Donald Dickey left us. Mr. Cauble directed the eighth act. Bernard Beach, Faye Gill, and Leon Wheeler joined the cast. Those who left were Leon Wheeler, Bill Armstrong, Ronald Drumm, Eldon Johnson, Jerry Miller, and Bernard Beach. Mrs. McAllister directed the cast for the last four years. In the ninth grade Wanita Evans, Shelby Smith, and Benita Warren were added to the cast. Jerry West and Bob Rinker left. In the tenth act, Faye Gill left us but joined us again at the latter part of the year. Janette Laycock was the only other new member. Sue Munsey and Leroy Osborne left the cast in the eleventh act. The eleventh act was an important act. Several scenes were the Junior Carnival, con- cession sales, selling popcorn at the tourney. Christmas card sales, and the class tourney. The class play was alo a high light. In act twelve Peggy Clock returned after being gone two years. Janette Laycock left the cast. October 10 was the date everyone was looking forward to. This was the trip to Williamsburg, Virginia. Washington, D. C., and New York. April 18 was baccalaureate exercises and April 23 was graduation. Eleven of the starting stars have finished the twelve year play. They are Joann Bennett, Marjorie Brown, Norman Collins, Betty Iseley, Norma Lambert. Ruby Lawson, Jerry Maddy, Lois Mauck, Sue Vannatter, Jane Wimmer, and Keith Wright. Now we are ready to go into another part of our life after completing twelve years of the beginning state. Here we will be stars in the second play. We cannot leave the school without expressing our appreciation to all of the teachers and the principal who have helped guide us through the past twelve years. Karen Collins, will to Don Hay Kelly a portion of all my future permanent wave solutions. Norman Collins, will my ability to get to school on time to Donnie Boyle. Bob Dewees, will my weight lifting ability to Marvin Etchison. Wanita Evans, will my nerve to go on blind dates to Bonnie Glass. Faye Gill, will my ability to win the county shorthand contest to Sue Harrold. Benita Glass, will my ability to catch a man to any under-classman who thinks she can do the same. Bob Huber, will my "A,s" in bookkeeping to Donnie Fisher. Betty Iseley, will my ink eradicator to anyone who will not spill it. Norma Lambert, will my long hair to Barbara Loser. Ruby Mae Lawson, will my ability to attend conventions to Elaine Collins. Jerry Maddy, will my ability to get along with the teachers to anyone who cares to use it. Lois Mauck, will my height to Nancy Bader. Edgar McClurg, will my ability to drive home at noon and not get caught to anyone who has the nerve to try it. Carol Needler, will my height to .Iohn Foster. Shelby Smith, will my ability to know a boy from every school in the county to anyone that has the nerve that I have. Sue Vannatter, will my seat in the dungeon to anyone who is brave enough to take geography. ,lane Wimmer, will my ability to play hooky and get away with it to anybody who has nerve enough to try.
