4 :ia 0 e commencement held at moody coliseum Announcements had been sent out, letting all know that the 1987 senior class was ready to graduate. Grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and friends came to Moody Coliseum on Saturday, June 6 to watch the seniors receive their diplomas. The senior clas had forty-seven honor graduates, ten more than the class before them. When I was a freshman, I did not realize how important it was to maintain good grades. After attending Awards Day that year, I realized how important it was and have tried to keep my grades up since then. Being an honor graduate is a reward for years of hard work and it was well worth it, said senior Cathy Crawford. Valedictorian Rodney Adams and Salutatorian Betsy Peterson gave traditional speeches that X gradua made seniors remember their twelve years of friends, teachers and classes. Faces were filled with tears realizing that the time to move on and meet new faces was near. Finally, with a walk up the stairs, handshakes from administrators, the famous walk across the stage, and the handshake from Mr. Bob Price, came the diplomas. Remembering the instructions: pick up diploma with left hand, shake with the right, tion smile, and say Thank you, was probably the hardest part of the afternoon. After twelve long years of hard work, the 30 seconds on the stage, for most signified the beginning of a new life.
