They may remember a particular class, a certain teacher, that student who sat in the back of the room. Most often, however, they remember those special occa- sions - homecoming, the powder puff game, the pop ball or the unique times. There were the particular fashions and fads of the year - the country and western craze, the preppies, the non- preppies - lzod, the Polo man or Hunters Run. There were four-wheel drive trucks, Z-28's, 280-ZX's, Trans Ams, Volkswagons and mother's hand-me-down. Gasoline prices stopped going up and, at some stations, were even lowered. Costs of eating out, going to the theater and new clothes rose. Students hunted dollar movies or tuned into the cable.
