However, not only did the administration and staff work hard over the summer, but throughout the school year they work to keep the school running smooth, so that the students can learn without any disturbance. The students are lucky to have such a capable admin- istration and staff working for them. SMCOTH CPENING Dr. Jack Stern Mr. Calvin Wallace What did you say this was? Teaching every student to become aware by reading and comprehending what is read is one of the most im- portant tasks of the English department. Of course, the English department also fulfills the needs of teaching grammar and other necessary skills needed for a student to become proficient in English. iw Mrs. Faye Deese I Mrs. Sarah Emerson Mrs. Alice lpock Mrs. Shirley Johnson 16 Mrs. Deidra Bennett , ,ff Miss Leonora Broughton iq-.f Mrs. Agnes Cole Mrs. Jeanne Fitzsimmons 5: Mrs. Raynette Covington Mrs. Wendy Hudson History STEP INTO TH E PAST f'J.Rr Mr. Steve Camp Mr. James Edwards Another day like this will kill me?! Dwight Clark's 38-yd. pass to half- back Terry Ware put the Wildcats at the Hickory 25, but another pass to Ware fell short, and with only 1:11 left in the game, a brief fight broke out on the field, marring the next to the last game. Zager, Mark 254 Index 299 301 30 Editor's Note The hours of work and frustration are over. I can finally say it's done. But it would still be unfinished if it wasn't for my staff who put in so many long hours and worked so hard to complete it. Several years from now l'm sure l will consider this a rewarding experi- ence. Ftight now it is a relief to have it done. Along with my staff I want to thank Mr. Ron Norman from Keys Printing Corp. for being so patient and helpful, Mr. Jesse Reich, our adviser, thepeople at lvey's studio who were responsible for Senior portraits and all of my family and friends who put up with all my complaints and gave me words of support when I was feeling blue.
