Dr. Patil Peri- gord. of L'.C,I-..-X. received a fine and iust response to his speech on Modern Standards in Higher Life . in a program sponsored hy the .Xchiesement Club. w SCHOOL LIFE The next day a committee of fifteen from the various home rooms gathered in the aud- itorium where Fred Kushera spoke ahout the hond election and showed a moving picture illustrating the March 10. 1933 earthquake. In an after school meet the gyrating Ciar- held gym team fought to a tie-75-75 with the Roughriders. Tree planting day took place on Friday. The olhcers and sponsors of Senior H.-X and li classes had the privilege of actually planting the tree. Roy Morton, a Senior and Opal Napier. Senior MH . recited poems. and XYilliam lieclsman sang the memorahle song. Trees, The Orpheus Cfluh, on Tuesday. March ZH. gave hefore the hoys' division a very en- tertaining musical program. On Friday. the Twenty-third of March. the Garfield cinder- scratchers were defeated in a track meet hy Ietferson to the tune of 62 to -ll The Senior Ayes and Bees. again tried to out-shine each other in the semi-annual senior class party. Dancing and ping-pong were the outstand- ing features of the evening. lf anyone was mystihed hy students care- fully scrutinizing their friends' ears. mouths. or hair. he had no cause for alarm. for.
