Class of 1950 page I7 El'll'0IIlhel'll'I I I 7 pe?-Sonnel SEPTEMBER 1946 - JUNE 1947 The first meeting of the newly formed class of 1950 was held September, 1946, and was called to order by Miss Grace DeVaney, Dean of Girls. Five girls were nominated for the Most Popular Girl contest held annually at the Jamboree, those being nominated were Jo Ann Bohn, Anne Myers, Roberta Long, Frances Reedy, and Judy Drake. In the final vote the award went to Jo Ann Bohn. Anne Myers was elected as Freshman attendant to the football queen. A sponsor and officers were elected for the following year. The faculty member chosen as sponsor was Miss Dorothy Becherer. The Officers were as follows Marie Feree, President, Jim Paitson, Vice-President, Barbara Scott, Secretaryg and Jack Risley, Treasurer. The meeting was adjourned by the closing of the term, June, 1947. SEPTEMBER 1947 - JUNE 1948 The meeting was called to order by the President, Marie Ferree. This year's most popu- lar girl was Roberta Long, and the class king was Jim Paitson. The attendant to the queen was Marjorie Hammond. We had three varsity lettermen in football and three in basketball. Our managers were Al Grantham in football and basketball, and Bill Roberts in baseball. The Class of '50 is also represented by one yell leader and three majorettes They are Fran ces Reedy and Jo Ann Mansard Shirlee Kramer and Mary Kay Parr respectively The meeting was adjourned with the ending of the term SEPTEMBER 1948 JUNE 1949 The meeting was called to order by the new President Ed Elliott The other officers were as follows Bill Sellers Vice President Dorothy Mason Secretary and Kate Newport Treasurer The popularity contest was won by Janet Wmdley The Junior class was repre sented on the football float by Patt Cox The number of Junior lettermen had increased since the previous year In football there was an increase from three to five and in basketball from three to four A committee was appointed and class rings were chosen under the su pervision of Miss Becherer In March the Juniors presented their revue Sunrise Serenade with 85 Juniors performing The year ended with the Junior Banquet and Prom over which Robei ta Long reigned as Prom queen with Katherine Tuberosa and Joyce Chase as attend ants The class was adjourned for the summer on June 9 SEPTEMBER 1949 JUNE 1950 The final meeting of the class of 1950 was called to order in September 1949 The of ficers for this meeting were Ed Elliott P1 esident Bill Sellers Vice President Bob D Miller Secretary and Gary Stoker Treasurer The final vote in the Most Popular Girl Contest went to Ann Lantz This being our senior year we elected as football queen Janet Wlndley with Patt Cox as senior attendant The next senior event scheduled was the senior revue Penthouse Serenade A committee was appointed to select the announcements This year the senior class had more lettermen than in any of the three previous years In football we had elght Werneke McGee Cllft Pearson Humphrey Brown Sellers Risley and in basketball five Clift Brown Werneke Yatsko Palmer After the sleepless weeks practicing for the revue the seniors were left on their own until June 2 when senior week activities began Sunday June 4 Bacca laureate s e r v 1 c e s were held at the Student Union Building at Indlana State June 5 the annual class picnic was held at Shaka mak and Commencement and the Senior Farewell dance were held June 7th This was the last activity disbanded June 7 1950 following a commence ment 1n which 70 girls and 38 boys received diplomas i FE'aN5-SUP wks 15 Sf NS 4 of 'Q 3-'Ns N Ns Q A f: dp 7 I 7 I 7 ' . . , . . .
