They were as follows: Max Getts, presidentg Clifford Long, vice-presidentg Don Vander- hoof, secretaryg and Norman Simillion, treasurer. Each class was represented by a class representa- tive. They werejohn Paul Scliutte, Seniorg Paul Ami- chaux, Iuniorgjoyce Barz, Sophomoreg and Virginia Baker, Freshman. Peck Leonardi was elected as an honorary member. The student council is a democratic form of government among the students. The council's duties are many and varied. The main purpose is law and order. A few of the council's many activities this year were to keep order in the halls, plan assembly programs, decorate the Christmas tree, work on the Christmas Formal, develop good will among the stu- dents, and to prm vigle a govern ment run by the students on democratic principles. r Standing - N. One of the largest clubs, their schedule was varied and interesting. With emphasis placed on sportsmanship .ind fair play, they learned the rudiments of basketball, volleyball, softball, and held some track events. Club oflicers were as follows: Cleyo Perrin, presidentg Don Vanderhoof, vice presidentg Ed Gibbs, secretaryg Buzz Simillion, treasurerg and Paul Amichaux, sergeant at-arms. With such requisites for physical fit- ness in the modern way oflife, a club such as the Ath- letic Club is invaluable to high school youth.

iliiilllllii lllllllll' Sllllllill To be chosen as a member of the National Honor Society is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a senior. The students work diligently throughout their four years of high school to obtain this recognition. The faculty chooses the members from the upper one third of the class and only fifteen percent can be selected. Their choice is based on four important phases of the life of high school students: character, scholar- ship, leadership, and service. A studentrnust have ele- ven credits in the fields of mathematics, science, lang- uages, history, and English to he eligible for this recog- nition, Mr. lgo presented pins to the following seniorsg Alfreda Mann, Eugenia Mussat, james Weaver, john Paul Schutte, Max Getts, and Loyette Gamba.
