Peck Sllllllllllllllll llllli llllllll On September 4, 1945, thirty-seven subdued but hopeful Frosh entered the halls of G. C. H. S. The Frosh-Soph struggle ended in a 12-9 defeat for the Frosh. The Sophomores chose asofficers: Larry Drake, president, Harvey Bellmi vice-presidentg Kay Wilson, secretaryg joyce Barz, treasurerg Louise Halford and Annette Heuberger, Student Council representatives. Mrs Almgren was class sponsor. The class was well represented in sports and band. In the fall of 1946, following a year of successful endeavor and a well'-earned vacation, 30 Sophomores returned for another year of scholastic striving. Ofthis number, 26 were of the original class and4 were newcomers. ln addition to these, 2 new students enrolled during the school year, making a total of 32. The Sophomore class officers were: lack Fitzgerald, presidentg Harry Shetlar, vice-president, Freda Hansen, secretary, Robert Todd, treasurer. Miss Margaret Egan was class sponsor. Don Vanderhoof and Joyce Barz were Student Coun- cil Representatives. ln athletics the class was represented by four students, two of whom earned letters. Four students competed in the scholastic contest. During the year the Sophomore Class gave three parties. One was a Hal- lowe'en art for the entire student body, another, a Sophomore Class art g P V P Y and the third a goingfaway party for Kay Wilson, who moved to Wasluington. The class completed an enjoyable year ani is looking ahead to the privilege of being upper classmen.
