D ixie Lee Briggs Treasurer .................................................... Orville Turner In September, '42, a group ot Wonderment fthe luniorsl went bravely to their first classes. On finding school wasn't too bad after all, they all smiled a bit. This Iunior class was well represented in athletics. Football and bas- ketball seasons revealed these lunior tighters: Bill Nelson, Orville Turner, Wallace Stotfel, Wally Dugan, Clarence Akes, George Cottrell, Rex Narra- more, Raymond Karsten, and Melvin Rohr. Early in October these luniors ordered class rings. When the rings came, in lanuary, there was many a good-natured fracas between the luniors and Seniors as to just whose ring was the prettiest. tlt's still a draw.l December brought the Iunior play- Nobody But Nancy. The cast had outstanding success and fun doing it. The Spring Prom, an annual occasion, was a gala affair. lt was quite a social eventg an honor for the Seniors to attend. Everyone came dressed in his best, and ready tor a marvelous time. Each one declared it was the best Prom ever given. All went home tired, but gloriously happy. Next year these luniors are the Seniors. They will make the year profitable and full. In Iune, 1944, they will shed many a tear, but then go forth into a world that they will make ever new again.
