II Homemaking The Homemaking Department offers classes in sewing, cooking, and home management. The aim of this department is to im- prove the quality of home and family living. This program is carried out by having each student do home projects and partici- pate in an annual fashion show put on by the combined sewing and cooking classes. Science Preparing students to approach problems of all kinds in a logical and systematic manner is the main objective of the Science Department. Students become science conscious and science curious through individual research study in the form of science project of their choice. Social Studies Blanche Braden Robert Farrell Diane Gray Richard Gregory Two main objectives of the Social Studies Department are to develop rich and integrated personalities and socially efficient citizens. Required courses in this department include world history, United States history, freshman and senior problems, as well as civics. Special emphasis is placed on correlating the material taught, so that every student has an under- standing of his relationship to the world and his responsibility to others.
