Library Science, under the supervision of Miss Anderson, offered junior and senior girls the privilege of receiving instruction in library services. The girls, who assisted the librarians in the daily routine necessary for efficient function of the library, were lleft to rightl Gayle Gerorden, Joyce Potter, Pat Hokanson, Janet Newsom, Carolyn Head, Susan Oder, Joan Dowling, Janet Rice, Loyann Venhaus, Billie Kesterson and Lana Galford. 24 Muriel Anderson LM To serve each individual student through guiding his reading interests, helping him with reference problems, and teaching him to use library 'tools' was the task to which the Library Department dedicated itself. Dur- ing the year over 25,000 books were circu- lated for periods of overnight or longer. Class groups used the library nearly 7OO hours for reference purposes, ln addition, students were encouraged to share exhibits or collection hobbies by displays in the library.
