E, Department emphasis was placed on core courses - touch football, basketball, track, baseball, swimming, badminton, volleyball, tumbling, and apparatus - in order to give students a general idea about rules and basic skills. In the Girls' P. E. Department the principle ot selection was stressed. Girls on freshman and sophomore level were acquainted with a wide variety of activities and emphasis was laid on physical fitness. Juniors and seniors were permitted to specialize in activities ot their choice, keeping in mind the balance between team, individual sports, and rhythmic training.
