We know that you are a de- scendant of the Norse god of Thunder, and your reflection on us has beenjust that impressive. When your father returned from the Civil War, he helped to build a church before he started to work on his own home. This is a characteristic of the Tuttle family that put God first in their lives. We want to thank you for your inspiration. As Jonathan Edwards, one of your own ancestors, inspired early citizens of this country, youhave been an inspiration in our lives. We know how richly you have been endowed with love of your fellow man. We hope that our lives might touch as many lives as yours has. You have shown a definite interest in us, and you have cer- tainly been an interesting figure in our community. This year you gave books to our libraries. Not so long ago, when we were younger, you told us stories. Around the world three times, and never in the same di- rection, is an experience to be remembered. As a missionary, you gave of your lust to the Chinese. Your fondest memories are probably of the Chinese people, and perhaps your saddest memory was having to leave China at a time when they needed you most--a time when you were imprisoned in your own home during the war with the Japanese. Many memories, we feel sure, may be recaptured by the souvenirs and mementos that adorn many areas of your home. Growing up in the atmosphere of a personality such as yours cannot be driven from our minds. We will always have fond memories of you. We just want, in some small way, to express our apprecia- tion . . . Thank you.
