This old saying aptly describes Mrs. Pullen, our teacher, our counselor, and above all our friend. Besides teaching home economics, world history, and family living, Mrs. Pullen has been the Sunshine Society sponsor, 4-H sponsor, F.T.A. sponsor, Dean of Girls, and, for the last two years, our class sponsor. In spite of these many activities, she has always found time to encourage us when we were discouraged, to guide us in using our talents, large or small, to the best advantage, and to inspire us to higher ideals and goals in both our present and future lives. Realizing the value of her friendship, we, the 1958 Senior Class, wish to show her a small token of our appreciation by dedicating the Galvestonian to our friend indeed-Mrs. Arthur Pullen. I'm happy to report that they're all now great men and women. I'll write a few lines to tell you of their many astounding achievements. I'll start with Sue Armstrong. Sue has made quite a mark in the field of medicine. She's head nurse for Dr. Christian on the new television program, You and Your Liver. We're really proud of Sue. Next comes Dick Baber. He is a prosperous gun manufacturer in Timbucktoo. He's happily married and has 12 children and I must not forget his 1968 Ford. My recent letter from President Crockett told of his trouble with Mars-Moon relations and the first rocket to the moon to negotiate peace talks. I certainly wish him luck on this ticklish situation. Marcia Cunningham was a bookkeeper for a large firm in New York. The firm went bankrupt becauseof some mistakes in the books. If anyone can give her a job, write Box 234, Sing Sing Prison where she is spending a few years. Well, John Dixon has done well for himself, too! He owns 500 acres in Northern Siberia, and raises thoroughbred Penguins. He says there is a big profit in the bird business. Beverly Downhour, an artist of great renown, paints portraits and draws cartoons for the funny papers. She hasn't married yet but plans to be wed to the King of Bulgaria in the spring. Richard Duncan is President of the largest television repair factory in Galveston, where he spent most of his childhood. I hear Dale Eakers is a big wheel in the California State Troopers. Last I heard he was on the trail of a nation-wide check forger. Jean Edwards is married and has a nice family of two boys and one girl. In her spare time she gives piano lessons and also plays for Max Sullivan's Choral Group. Since I mentioned Max Sullivan in the preceding paragraph, I'll say something about him. He's noted for his arrangement of the "Modern Choir" and for being a great scientist and philosopher. Carl Johnson, coach of the Globe Trotters, is now on a world tour to promote good- will for the United States. He's married to a beautiful Chinese movie star, head of the Mouseketeers, and has a TV program. Veda Reynolds is still happily marriedg they have a home and a nice family. I think her husband is president of a large corporation in Texas. Judy Robertson married that well-known scientific genius, Max Sullivan. I spoke to Judy the other day and she said she was content to be just a housewife, movie star, and a very active Civic Leader. Karen Patterson has also made her mark in Hollywood. Miss Patterson is currently starring opposite that great European film star, Lotsa Bologna. She plays the part of a young slave girl on a cottin' pickin' plantation. Marsha Huston, like Sue, has made her mark in the nursing profession. She currently is staying at Longcliff Hospital. She says she will be transferred when the doctors get well. I received a cable from Princess Bonnie Fogelsong yesterday. She is spending the winter on the French Riviera with her husband, the Prince of Disneyland. I haven't heard much from Ruby Hunt lately. I believe she is still going to college to be a veterinary. Ruby always did like animals. Max jackson owns his own livestock farm. He has 550 acres and raises the finest weeds and gophers in the world. He also is a consultant to President Crockett on matters of Foreign Affairs and diplomacy. Phil Peterson, a great Physicist, yesterday released his new laws, one which is, "What goes up must come down," except in the case of YO YO's his law reverses itself. We can expect many great things from the Professor. Doug Myers is a prosperous farmer and hopes to marry a cute girl he met in India while touring farms. He was a guest of the Indian government. Marion Pullen married a 1959 graduate of G.H.S. Following the footsteps of his mother, he is head of the Agricultural department at the new Galveston High School. Maurice Spence now owns a chain of 48 gas stations, one in every state. They are called Spence's Snappy Services. Another one of our alumni, Donnie Spence, has also done very well for himself. Donnie owns a wholesale grocery which is said to be the largest one in the world. Mr. Rudolph has joined the ranks of Studebaker-Packard. Lynn is the chief mechanical engineer and the Vice President of the corporation. He developed the device that revo- lutionized the economy of autos, pedals. Dave Rodabough is perhaps the most successful personain our class. He was the first human being to go to the moon in a Plymouth. His immortal first words upon landing on the moon will live forever, these were, "It's Cheese, Yum, Yum." Last, but not least, comes me, the composer of this enlightening document. I own the largest pickle factory in the world. I have a new sports car and a mansion that takes up a square mile. I'd tell you more but Pm so modest about my success. Well, I guess that's all of the men. and women who 1958. We woulmgvlikle to thank all the te younger years. it out them teachers are proud graduated ' achers and ' we would of us and in the great class of instructors for their help in our not have been such big wheels. We hope the the memories they have are all happy ones. Yours very truly, G ,Q 'A A E-N' PAUL WOOLLEY . 0 X I I .
