Four years togeth- er on the Galt High School campus have provided innumerable opportunities for personal knowledge and advancement, friendships, entertaining times and for growing up. Perhaps the greatest change the last four years have wrought is the change within yourselves. You came to us as early teen-agers, complete with all the problems, frustrations, abilities, hopes and desires of freshmen. Now you are young men and women, ready to become adults and take your places in society. It is the hope of the Board of Trustees, and faculty and administration that you will accept your responsibilities readily, that you will take the initiative in pursuing more education and useful occupations, and that you will become respon- sible citizens of our Democracy in whatever community you live. One final word--your words, your actions, your attitudes become the example which others will follow. May they reflect the best that you have learned in your years at Galt High School! Orvell K. During the season they won 7 games and lost only 2, defeating such formidable foes as Los Banos and Elk Grove, champion of the Golden Empire League. They also achieved state recognition by amassing over 3,000 yards on offense while scoring 258 points to opponents 58 points. The Warriors played such fine football that opposing coaches selected six players to the all-conference first team on offense and defense. Those selected were Kent Shebelut, Thurman Roberts, Jack Jenkins, Stan Seifert, Lloyd Russell, and Jim Bates. Jim Bates was also honored as co-captain of the all-conference team . During the season the Galt footballers exhibited skill, tremendous spirit, and fine sportsmanship. Their performance on the gridiron brought honor and glory to our school and contributed much to the great football tradition at Galt High. ' . 15. 43. f.
