Mr. Adrian Rowe, Miss Raye Allen, and Mr. Louis Fitzgerald. We wish to thank all of you for your many years of de- voted service to the students of Galetorr. Our school will seem empty without you-but our memories will be full of love. Que, 5. 47 WM id a qwxdook? And what is a yearbook? Just as Galeton High is notjust a beautiful sprawling building, not just students and teachers, not just victorious athletic teams, talented musical groups-but the essence, the vitality, the warmth, the intangible, living heart of all these-so a yearbook is like a magic mirror: capturing, holding, and reflecting forever the vibrant force and personality which was our school year. A yearbook is people-and people are laughter, tears, cheers, taunts, quick-silver dreams, studies, goofing off. People-People growing up-but growing up hurts. And a yearbook is events-proms, music, dates and lack of dates. Soccer games won and cele- brated, soccer games lost with tired players walking silently together for a last look at the lengthening shadows on a now-empty field, turning quickly away with unbidden tears. A yearbook is life-a year of life-a year lived-a year now gone-and the promise of all the years that are to come. ' . Well, Seniors, you made it: i f-4 Today in education the magic word is "innovative" which translated very roughly means "new and different." lt seems to me the time has come for the public schools and the American people to design an "innovative" program in economics. The program would teach two things and l list them. 1. There is no such thing as a free lunch. 2. Liabilities do not become assets through sheer accumulation. Before that turns you offas a smart remark, think about it. Think about it a whole lot. Good luck Basil Harris XXL. A - My l,,.w"'i ,,,.....,-,erik ffdqft Sclwal Tfukwqfal Have confidence in yourselflmost of you are better people than you think you are. But along with confidence know your limitations and make them strengths instead of weaknesses. Don't be ashamed to admit an error when you have made it. The thoughts bring us smiles and also some tear As we long for the times that were ever so dear. We each had our idles more better and old To cherish and dream of and wishingly hold. The chains of love are so numbered behind For theres many to tell and one of each kind. The freshman child showed her love with a sigh As she dreamily stared at the sophomore guy. While the sophomore guy was a friend and a pal To the one that he wished for-the junior gal. Thatjunior gal so blond and so tan Was always seen chasing the senior man. And the senior man so wicked and wild Was secretly in love with the freshman child. We learned from those times, they're there as a thought Of the days in our school years where experience had taught K W5 1. M., XM 5' -R2 Y-11 'na Agwwz' . They possess that unchallengable asset of being one step a.head of everybody else. If the minds of these students could be harnessed we're sure that there would never be a power shortage. We know they're looking forward to their senior year and we also know that their senior year isn't sure it's going to be ready for them.
