MORE 0 E THA W0 Losing all five starters from last year's team hampered the tide as they pulled away with only three wins for the '79-80 season. The tide found competing against area teams with more heighth and ex- perience rough going. This disappointing season did not, however, diminish the gallant efforts put forth by each member. The tide had a 1-5 record as they traveled to play in the Richlands Christmas Classic. In the first night of tournament play, Galax slipped past Richlands with a two point lead. The following game against Lyn View spelled defeat for the tide giving them runner-up position in the tournament. Luck just didn't seem to follow as the team managed only one more win for the season, to finish with a record of 3-17. The team may have not broken records for the number of games won - but the tide did show what it was all about.
