Karen Cox does the robot. Toot-toot, hey-y-y beep-beep! These familiar sounds are heard at the new disco called Grandfather's every Wed- nesday, Friday, and Satruday night. If you haven't been, you've missed a great time to boogie to the greatest disco sounds. From the balcony, the Pretzel, Latin Hustle and many more of the latest steps can be seen. If you've always had that special someone in the back of your mind, then now is your chance to get them out on the floor and dance. But then there's always 101 excuses when that Disco Daniel with the SSS fslick, silk shirtl asks you to dance. Even if you don't like disco, Grandfather's is still the place to PARTY HEARTY! Disco Nights If you know Allen, then you know why Lynette is smiling. Debbie Williams and friend tear up the floor at Grandfathers. STUDENT LIFE 17

HEY DOC, I'm allergic to needles. Carmen Davis cringes as she gets her inoculation. Remember when you were little and your mommy took you to the doctor's of- fice so you could get shots for all those horrible diseases? Well guess what, those shots either weren't any good in the first place or they ran out of effectiveness! So, during those first hectic days of school, we were all notified that we were required to have the boosters or prove that we had had them, OR be dismissed from school. Now, no matter how much we dislike school, Mom and Dad wouldn't let us get kicked out, .so we had to drive the doc- tor's secretaries crazy looking for our records or we took the shots. For most of us, it was take the shots. Being called by classes, we at least had our friends to help us through this painful situation. We waited our turns, wondering if we would be one of the ones who passed out. Man- alive, they were dropping like flies out there for a while, but for most of us the pain of the painless air guns was the only reaction. 16 l Melanie Hensley laughs in pain's face. Mike Hash recuperates after a dizzy spell.. Vicki Hall tries to be brave as her turn comes up .W v

3 I DonnyTVaughan is told no for the fifth time Sandra Fortner takes time from Mrs Roudebush s In school this year a variety of ac- tivities can be seen going on. Some peo- ple decide not to go to class and instead wrestle outside land sometimes in the classroomj Then there are the scholars who try to take in everything they can from the teachers but usually can't con- centrate due to the noise in the room. Sleeping seems to have become very popular, not only at home, but also in class while a teacher is giving a lecture that you really should be listening to. Some of the main topics, which sleeping students often do not hear, deal with sleeping in class. Other topics students should listen to include 'Coach Dalton's infrequent tips on how to cheat on your income tax, Ms. Anness' brochures on common everyday plants you can eat. And, of course, you can always hear Coach Spangler's new jokes fthey were also new last year, the year before, the year before that, etc.J Gene Sizemore stretches out after one of those weekends. 18 STUDENT LIFE ' Sleepmg on the Job
