We headed enthusiastically for the beaches, pools, tennis courts, and summer jobs, What a relief - 2Vz months of glorious summer vacation. Long days were spent working or just doing not much of anything. We can now look back laughingly at all those wild and exciting adventures that summer always brings. For instance, all those wonderful days spent at the beach trying our best to be fish - in or out of the water! As we put all thoughts of summer behind us and look to the coming year with high hopes, a slight sense of nervousness, and overall enthusiasm - it's the suntimes we'll remember. 4 merry-go-round. 'init As the summer ended and schooltime grew near, students began bustling about in order to prepare for the upcoming year. After all the notebooks, paper, pens, and pencils were bought, the '79-80 school year hit with extreme force. Quizzes, chapter tests, and book reviews blew us all away. But the mighty GHS students weathered the storm clutching the knowledge of future football games, pep rallies, and, of course, Homecoming. Now that we are in full swing of the school year, all the old familiar habits are seen in action once again. Lunch time is still a favorite whether you spend it out- side in the fresh air or inside munchin or on the benches rapping with your favorite people. Even with the problems of schoolwork, the fun of school life equalizes the hassles. l Clockwise from left William Sizemore strains his brain on a tough in- tergalactic word find.
