The Student Music Club began the year with the planning of many activities for the following year. The club planned to visit many service institutions in the area. One of these visits was a trip to the nursing home during the Christmas holi- days. The group also hoped to go Christmas carolling over the Christmas holidays and to sponsor a musical assembly for the enjoyment of the school student body. Each month one member invites the club to their house to meet and discuss many items of importance. This year they also joined the Federation of Music Clubs which is state and nationally know. The Student Music Club strives to help peo- ple in the community and those around them gain an appreciation of music and respect for others. The officers are: Matt Payne - President, Babette Holder - Secretaryflleporter, and Margie Rowlett - Treasurer. Jenny Marion wonders how late she is for the next Music Club meeting. The only real thing the members are concerned about is whether they sell the tickets or not and everyone knows about this because as soon as they're anywhere near the high school they are attacked by four very large members of the club, but everyone enjoys the film and the break from class. Later on in the year, they sponsor the an- nual Tommy Adams benefit basketball game in which the even year graduates and students play the odd year graduates and students. It proves a lot of entertain- ment and fun as well as contributing to a good cause. jackets. X Several Varsity Club members visit the closest playground to test their strength on the gym set.
