Some of our projects were: donating money to the SCA for Homecoming flowers and to the Galax Christmas Party. Members also helped pack the items for the Christmas Party boxes. The main goal of the FBLA is to in- crease business knowledge and to prepare the members for the business world. These are selected by how many points they have for a certain month. You couldn't walk down the street without being handed a sticker, button, or the popular election ballots. Various rallies and dinners were attended by the Young Republicans to show their support for their republican candidates. Under the leadership of Susan Nunn, as president, and Ruth Ann Otey, as secretary-treasurer, this was the most outstanding political oriented club in our school. CLUBS 105

You may not see these people roaming the halls of G.H.5, but they can be found in the vocational building learning various skills in practical nurs- ing. These days it's not unusual to find a couple of males in this course. They might even be an appreciated change of scenery. What do these people do? Everything from A to Z. They learn the primary skills of practical nursing such as changing bed linens, taking blood pressures, learning the bone structure of the human body, and many other important things.
