JACK LARGE Principal yjrzbczyocz 75 V Wessaye It could be that the youth of today will make one of the greatest decisions ever made by Americans. That decision will be whether we will continue to live under our present form of government or whether we will succumb to the communistic govern- ment strangling so many countries of the world. I don 't believe this decision will be made by use of atomic bombs or guided missiles. I believe it will be made in the mind of men. The extent to which we exercise our God -given abilities to think, to love, and to work will largely determine the nature of the decision that will be made. If we ex- pect more and more from our government and not demonstrate our willingness to take care of ourselves, we are in great danger of losing the freedom we now enjoy. A so- ciety made up of too many people who think "the world owes me a living" and "let John do the work" could be a pushover for a type of government that makes many promises and fulfills none. Young people, don't be afraid to work! It has killed very few people and even those few must have died with a clear conscience. MRS . On the appointed day I arrived early at "dear" old Ga- latia High to greet my classmates. First to arrive was Janet Wickham. Janet told me that she had given up men after the death of her fifth husband. She likes being a rich widow. Then, up drove Peck Boyett in his new Bonneville convertible. Right after graduation, Peck signed a contract with the St. Louis Cardinals and has been rolling in money ever since. He is a confirmed bachelor. QMay- be we could get Peck and Janet together.J Next came that famous movie star, Rock Hutson, better known to us as Neal Patterson. With him were his two secretaries, Buenita and Wanda Patterson. These Pattersons stick together. Also in the party were "Rock's press agent, Douglas Edwards, and his bodyguard, David Karnes. By this time people were coming in so fast that all I could do was move from one group to another catching up on all the news. Richard "Fred Astaire" Nevious is working with "Gene Kelly" in the movies. They are also co -owners of a chain of dancing studios in every one of the 50 states. Terry Bond is a world-famous engineer who has just finished building a bridge across the Pacific Ocean. This tops Cheryl Garrett 's previous rec- ord of one across the Atlantic. This rivalry has been going on for years. ezfzzbr Gfzss 7jl"O!U ec' Professor Tom Tuttle conducts a college class at Purdue University on "How to Get Out of Class. " For some reason no one cuts his classes. Loveta is content to stay home with the kids and keep house. Opening tonight is Calvin Heflin 's new nightclub, "The "Black Paw. " Featured performers are that famous trio composed of Brenda Cluck, Margaret Gann, and Betty Dowdy. Also on the program is that great comedy team, Mr. and Mrs. Gaylor Paris. Sharon Kinser and Lynda Maynard left their husbands at home baby- sitting while they had a night out. Kenny Pemberton is a great Shakespearean actor. His director is Fred Crayne. Jeanette Alecci, Hazel Thompson, and Kathryn Schwartz are the stars of Jim Cselosky 's circus. They are trapeze artists. Blondie Bush recently added Fay 's Cafe to her chain of restaurants throughout the country. Her new manager is Anita Flannell. After Mr. Bond retired, Sandra Bird was right there to move into his place as Agriculture teacher at Galatia High School. James Tate is also a teacher. He teaches Girls' Physical Education at the University of Alaska. Hubert "Yogi" Williams is a horse trainer. He specializes in training merry- go -round horses. Ronnie Jerdon is a great research scientist. He has just discovered why people get bald. Their hair falls out. Connie Jo Higgins is a champion drag racer. She employs Mary Strick lin as her mechanic. John Winters and Donnie Beers are preparing for their big race, the Kentucky Derby. Bet, anyone? Uohnny is a bookie on the side.J Last to arrive was Ann Wallace. Ann has just returned from France where she is gathering material for her new book, "Paris Place. " I just learned that "Rock" has talked Buenita "Liz" Patterson into star- ring with him in his new movie, "Hot Ice. " The next day I boarded the plane back to Chicago, already looking forward to our next reunion on June 1, 1981.
