l SL Y Deans Daily Check Rcsultcd in 96km Attendance A record 962, daily attendance was maintained due to the efficient ad- ministration of the new 16-day at- tendance policy by Deans Cela Hendrickson and Roy Tower. Daily phone calls from the deans' office to absent students' homes kept tru- ancy at a minimum and a close check on ill students. Serving as Dean of Girls, Nlrs. Cella Hendrickson organized the new two division Student Council and acted as faculty advisor. She co- ordinated the 1966 Homecoming events. Registration and withdraw- als of girls was done under her di- rection. Daily bulletins, activity cal- endars and intercom announce- ments were issued from her office. lVlr. Tower, in the newly created position of Dean of Boys, directed club activities. He instituted the class-decal system of car registra- tion and parking. Discipline of boys, equipment inventory, and mainte- nance of buildings and grounds came under his jurisdiction. Hello, Tower here. . . Expanded Curriculum Serving his third year as GHS's assistant principal, John Neller, this year co-ordinated the curriculum expanded to 82 courses. He super- vised student registration and scheduling, directed the issuance and use of the more than 10,000 textbooks used by GHS students. In addition, Mr. Neller was re- sponsible for pupil assignment, the Student Handbook and the newly- printed Teacher Handbook. Further duties included supervision of the custodial staff, substitute teachers, lunch schedules and many daily routines for students and teachers. .
