to Ga1ncsv111c High School This Year Faced with the many problems of overcrowding, three shifts for teachers and students, student body of over 2000 and a staff of nearly 100, GHS principal, Joe Hudson, met all his supervising and admin- istrative responsibilities calmly and competently. With other school ad- ministrators, lVIr. Hudson worked for the school bond issue, explaining the needs of the county school and GHS in particular. After the elec- tion's defeat, lVlr. Hudson looked for new ways to relieve crowded conditions. lVlr. Hudson, active in community affairs, served on the Board of Di- rectors of the Lion's Club. lVlr. Hud- son helped inthe sale of light bulbs for the cIub's Sight Conservation Drive. He also served on KP duty at the Lion's Bar-B-Que for the scholarship foundation. An avid Lion, lVlr. Hudson promoted his club by selling light bulbs to his wife and daughter ABOVE RIGHT: Amidst GHS students, lVlr. Hudson cheered the Canes on. LEFT: lVlr. Expanded Curriculum Serving his third year as GHS's assistant principal, John Neller, this year co-ordinated the curriculum expanded to 82 courses. He super- vised student registration and scheduling, directed the issuance and use of the more than 10,000 textbooks used by GHS students. In addition, Mr. Neller was re- sponsible for pupil assignment, the Student Handbook and the newly- printed Teacher Handbook. Further duties included supervision of the custodial staff, substitute teachers, lunch schedules and many daily routines for students and teachers. .
