Once again, however, duty dictated and we moved out to our patrol area and then down to the tip of Arabia. Cameras, binoculars and movie projectors became our cargo here,but soon we were Africa bound again, this time to Massawa in Eritrea. That the great salt flats, the hottest place on earth, were only one hundred miles from Massawa we little doubted. We were rewarded by the Ethiopian Navy with a day trip to Asmara, 8000 feet above sea level, with a temperature change of fifty degrees.
