AN OUTSTANDING YEAR With an overall record of 18-5, the boy's varsity basketball team became the 5A Area 16 champions for the fourth time within the past five years. Coach Gary Muskett said, I'm very proud of tnat and, of course, of in- cluding a state championship in those same five years. Until the unfor- tunate injury of Charlie Hicks, G.H.S. was the odas-on favorite, alongside the eventual champion, Hayes, to win the state tournament. Players Keith Dudley and Parrish Sanders earned All-Area 16 for this season. Dudley was also recognized as All- Tournament during the state tourna- ment and was named to the sports- writers second all-state team. Muskett added, I'm very proud of 'em to say the least. Heads up!!! Rudy Ransaw shows fancy Tiger offense! Keith Dudley is careful not to foul! 18
